Ari Lennox was arrested in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on November 29th.  According to Dutch military police, Lennox was detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport for disturbing public order, being aggressive toward an airline official and public intoxication. Police spokesperson Robert van Kapel said: “Our unit found a woman full of emotions that wouldn’t calm down. That’s why she had to be taken into custody.”  The spokesperson for the Dutch military police said they are currently investigating threats Ari Lennox allegedly made toward the airline official.  Dutch authorities declined to say when she would be released from custody, citing an ongoing investigation of other threats they claim Lennox made.

Lennox, however, has a different versions of events. The Dreamville singer claims she was racially profiled, and documented her arrest on social media.  Lennox tweeted about the incident as it was in progress. “I just want to go home. I’ll never leave my house again,” she wrote.   Lennox arrived in Amsterdam on Monday morning local time following her performance at the 2021 BET Soul Train Awards in New York City on Sunday evening (November 28).
