That’s right, Yung Berg a.k.a Hitmaka is out here giving us #1 singles that we get lit to without knowing he’s behind the creation of the songs! Most people think Yung Berg fell off the face of the Earth or not doing anything with his talent anymore. When you say Yung Berg’s name to the average Hip-Hop or R&B fan, it’s a mixed response. Some people even laugh at his name but Yung Berg (Hitmaka) is actually out here getting the last laugh.

Since Hitmaka isn’t in front of the camera rapping songs, the average consumer think he’s not making any noise at all. However, Hitmaka has more than 30 singles in rotation right now by artists such as: Chris Brown, Big Sean, K. Michelle, Ty Dolla Sign, Jeremih, Nicki Minaj, Jason Derulo, and many more established artists. You can find Hitmaka in the studio producing and co-writing hooks for the biggest names in Hip Hop and R&B.

1. Big Sean- Bounce Back

Yup, that’s right. “Last night took an L, but tonight I bounce back.” That’s everyone’s favorite part of the song and that’s actually the part of the song Hitmaka help bring to life. Hitmaka is responsible for the beat and co-wrote the hook with Jeremih. (Metro Boomin assisted on the beat, as well.) “Bounce Back” became Big Sean’s  highest charting single to date (without features) at #6 on Billboard’s Hot 100. The song charted at #1 on Billboard’s US Rhythmic.

2. Tamar Braxton- The One

This is one of those surprise tracks that you probably didn’t know Hitmaka was apart of. There was a little beef surrounding this track due to Tamar coming out to say Hitmaka didn’t produce the song. However, the receipts proved he did co-produce and write on “The One.” In 2013, “The One” went #13 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs chart and peaked at #2 on the Adult R&B Songs chart.

3.  Gucci Mane feat. Chris Brown- Tone It Down

“Hitmakkkaaa!” Whenever you hear that tag at the beginning of a song, just know Yung Berg is behind the production. “Tone It Down” was released in June of 2017 and became Guwop’s second single off  Mr. Davis. Hitmaka and Cardiak linked up for the flute-driven production. “Tone It Down” charted on Billboard’s US Bubbling Under Hip-Hop/R&B Singles at #2.

4. Nicki Minaj feat. Meek Mill- Buy A Heart

Hitmaka just didn’t just co-produce one song with Queen Nicki Minaj but he also produced on “Want Some More” and “Shanghai.””Buy A Heart” was one of them hot tracks resulting from a relationship that broke the Internet, Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill. 

5. Driicky Graham- Snapbacks & Tattoos

Remember this banger! “Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Snapbacks and tattoos! Snapbacks and tattoos! Nice whips, fly chicks. All that cause cash rules!” Hitmaka is responsible for the beat which him and his team made over 7 versions to.  “Snapbacks & Tattoos” had the airwaves on fire and peaked at #73 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Charted at #12 for Billboard’s Rap Singles.

6. Chris Brown feat. Usher & Gucci Mane- Party

Hitmaka is on record saying he contributed to the production of “Party” with his bro, A-1. “Party” became of one the biggest singles off of Chris Brown next album, Heartbreak On A Full Moon. “Party” charted on Billboard’s Hot 100 at #40, Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay at #4, and US Rhythmic at #2.

7. Jason Derulo feat. Kid Ink- Kama Sutra

Hitmaka has a writing credit on this club banger! Dope production by DJ Mustard and even doper vibe by Kid Ink & Jason Derulo.

8. Lil Wayne feat. Rick Ross- John

“You telling me Yung Berg produced this song?” One word: Facts! Polow da Don alongside Natown, Rob Holladay, and Yung Berg handled “John” production as The Dream Team. “John” charted on Billboard’s Hot 100 at #22 and Billboard’s US Rap Songs at #12.

9. Yo Gotti feat. Young Thug- Rihanna

Just three years ago this was one of the hottest songs in the streets! Hitmaka co-produced the beat and wrote the hook that Young Thug raps!

10. Jeremih feat. Chris Brown & Big Sean- I Think Of You

Another “What!” moment, right? Hitmaka contributed to the production of this track alongside of Cook Classics. “I Think Of You” samples Montell Jordan’s “Get It On Tonite.” Hitmaka stated on Sway In The Morning that French Montana is going to be on the remix!

11. Kid Ink feat. Jeremih & Spice- Nasty

Hitmaka and Smash David linked up to create this summer dance track. “Nasty” gives you a reggae feel but gives you enough Hip-Hop to make you have a good time vibing out to this song.

12. Wiz Khalifa feat. Ty Dolla Sign- Something New

“Something New” is the first official single from Wiz Khalifa’s next studio album. Hitmaka reveal on DJ Drama’s Shade 45 interview that he’s one of the executive producers on Wiz’s next album. “Something New” samples Computer Love by Zapp (Ft. Charlie Wilson & Shirley Murdock). “Something New” is currently #43 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.

13. Sevyn Streeter feat. Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, and Jeremih – Anything You Want

The “Hitmaka” tag is starting to catch your attention, right? Hitmaka co-produce this smash with Retro Future and Hitmaka recieves a writing credit on this song, as well. “Anything You Want” is a song that should get regular radio play due to it’s vibe and talented line up!

14. Chris Brown- Questions

This is only going to make you hate on Hitmaka more or make you become a fan! Hitmaka co-produced this remix of Kevin Lyttle’s debut 2003 single, “Turn Me On” with A-1 and Christopher Dotson. “Questions” has been heating up the radio since it’s release in August 2017. “Questions” charts on Billboard’s Hot 100 at #89, #36 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and US Rythmic at #17.

15. Yung Berg feat. Casha- The Business

After finding out he produced all them singles, you thought someone else produced and wrote “The Business” for Yung Berg? Well if you did, you definitely underestimated Yung Berg. Yung Berg co-produced “The Business” with Ron Holladay and co-written by Yung Berg, as well. “The Business” peaked at #33 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and is arguably a classic song emerging from the 2000’s that everyone loves.


What’s in the future for Hitmaka?

More production on hit singles, more writing credits, becoming an executive producer for 2 albums, and trying to break women in the music industry are in the future for Hitmaka! Hitmaka compares his producing to Puff Daddy back in the day. On DJ Drama’s show on Shade 45 Streetz Is Watching, Hitmaka stated, “My producing is different. I’m not sitting at the MPC all day. I don’t do that. I produce in a Puff Daddy type of way and I also write the top line of the song. That’s what makes me different from Puff. But it’s really the same thing I’m doing. I have the ear to find the right person.”


What’s next for Hitmaka is always interesting and could surprise many people. A few weeks ago, Joe Budden got everyone talking because he heard snippets of songs Blac Chyna did with Hitmaka and claimed they were hits! Since that day people have been anticipating Blac Chyna’s song to hear what she sounds like.

The world still haven’t heard that fire track from Blac Chyna. In the meantime, continue to jam and vibe out to Hitmaka songs that you now know has his contributions on them! In the famous words of Bryan “Birdman” Williams, “Put some respek on my (Hitmaka’s) name.”
