You can't keep certain people down for long! Especially when they have a talent and are good at something. Well, that holds true for Lamar Odom. With all the turmoil he's going through there is still light at the end of the tunnel for him. The 34-year-old forward signed with the New York Knicks for the remainder of the season on Wednesday, the NBA team announced shortly before game time. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the move reunites Odom with former Lakers coach and current Knicks President, Phil Jackson. Since the Knicks are not in playoff contention, the New York native's contract was essentially for one game. He was not present at Madison Square Garden for the final game of the season, but the Knicks beat the Toronto Raptors. According to the Knicks' press release, Odom holds career averages of 13.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 33.4 minutes in 961 games (684 starts) over 14 seasons with the L.A. Clippers, Miami, L.A. Lakers and Dallas. The veteran athlete signed a two-month contract for the 2013–14 season with Spanish basketball team Baskonia (also known as Laboral Kutxa). His comeback was cut short after he was ruled unfit to play due to a back injury last month. Odom only appeared in two games and played for approximately 22 minutes during his brief stint with his team. In a statement, Odom gave thanks to the fans and at the time, said he was still part of the team. "I am going to try and get back on the court and give you guys a show," the basketball star told the club's website. Odom last played in the NBA for the Clippers during the 2012-13 season.
