In protest to the high crime rate in the community, Chicagoan Cory Brooks of New Beginnings Baptist Church of Chicago pitched a tent on top of a drug infested, prostitute-ridden motel for 94 days. Brooks vowed to sit atop the building until he raised $450,000 to demolish the building.
After being tipped off by a member of Brooks church. Tyler Perry was taken by this story and was supportive. Supportive to where he donated $98,000 to complete the campaign.
