Chief Keef was visibly shaken and pleaded for leniency after being sentenced to 60 days in juvenile detention for violating his probation on a gun charge. The 17 year-old told the judge, “I am a very good-hearted person and I am sorry for anything that I have done wrong.” The judge was unmoved and said that Chief Keef had ignored the court’s orders regarding his probation for having pointed a gun at a police officer. The prosecution brought up the murderous persona Chief Keef often adopts in songs, particularly the recent single “Love Sosa,” as an argument for detaining him. With his voice trembling and breaking, Keef told the judge he was "misunderstood" and that his G.E.D. is almost complete. He add that "The person people are trying to make me out to be is not who I am" as his eyes teared up. The judge sentenced him to 60 days in juvenile detention.
