Over the past few months, Rihanna has peeled back from social media, and for good reason. It keeps her in the headlines!
Although she is no longer on Instagram, it’s her Twitter that has her in trouble this week.
A 16-year-old fan is now accusing Bad Gal Riri of cyber bullying after the teen recreated one of Rihanna’s looks for prom. The fan, named Alexis Carter, crafted a jumpsuit that was nearly identical to the green version that Rihanna sported at the Echo Awards in 2010, and posted the photos on social media in hopes that Rihanna would see them. She tells her local Fox affiliate:
I was like, ‘Oh my God, I love this outfit. I wanna go with this outfit. Let me go show my mom!’ And I was like, ‘Mom, mom, mom, I wanna wear this, it’s cool, I love it, oh my god!
Unfortunately, the excitement stopped there. As soon as she posted photos of her outfit, her pictures went viral and she became the subject of the hashtag #Prombat. Rihanna also got a hold of the photos, and posted a side-by-side shot of her outfit and Alexis’ with the caption ”IG” on her photo and “Real Life” on Alexis’, with a sad face. She also posted another side-by-side photo, but this time it was of Alexis in the dress on the left and the Wu-Tang logo on the right. The teenager’s excitement was killed when she saw not only the social media reaction, but Rihanna’s as well.
I was very offended. Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing. The poses was different but the outfit wasn’t.
She also added:
She don’t love her fans like she says she does.
The fan has since changed her background photo to one of Chris Brown.
